Welcome to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Immigration Guide
Discover the streamlined path to Canadian permanent residency through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This program is designed for foreign workers who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to become permanent residents. Below you’ll find detailed information on the eligibility requirements, the application process, and how our services can assist you every step of the way.
What is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?
The Canadian Experience Class is a favorable option under the Express Entry system for individuals who have already immersed themselves in the Canadian workforce. It targets temporary foreign workers and international students who have acquired skilled professional or technical work experience in Canada. By leveraging their Canadian work experience, these candidates significantly enhance their chances of obtaining permanent residence.
CEC Benefits:
- Fast processing times: Enjoy some of the quickest processing times of all economic immigration programs under Express Entry.
- No job offer required: You do not need a job offer to qualify for the CEC, unlike some other immigration programs.
- Retention of skilled workers: Specifically designed to help retain people who have already settled into the Canadian society and economy.
Eligibility Requirements for CEC
To qualify for the Canadian Experience Class, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Work Experience:
- At least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years.
- Experience must be in one or more occupations classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill type 0, A, or B.
- Language Proficiency:
- Achieve a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs or CLB 5 for NOC B jobs.
- Residential Plans:
- Must plan to live outside the province of Quebec, as Quebec selects its own skilled workers.
Note: The work experience gained during self-employment or full-time study does not count towards the eligibility under CEC.
