Welcome to the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) Guide
Canada’s Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) is designed for skilled tradespeople from around the world who want to immigrate to Canada and become permanent residents. This program is part of the federal economic immigration strategy and is processed through the Express Entry system.
Overview of the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
The FSTC caters specifically to qualified tradespersons in various occupations such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and welders among others, who can fulfill Canada’s economic needs in the skilled trades sector. Prior to 2015, the FSTC operated on a first-come, first-served basis but has since been integrated into the Express Entry system, enhancing the efficiency of processing applications.
